Signs of life in the derby: FC Juniors O celebrates their first win since August against Steyr

PASCHING. The FC Juniors O can still win in the 2nd football league: yesterday the tail light defeated the penultimate Vorwrts Steyr 3:1. It was the first win under coach Manuel Takacs – and also the first full success in 216 days: the Pasching team last won 5-2 once morest Dornbirn on August 7, 2021.

The hosts took the lead following 18 minutes: New witness Alexander Michlmayr scored from 18 meters to make it 1-0. Steyr’s start in the second half was extremely unfavorable: goal scorer Michlmayr broke through following 20 seconds, forward defender Alberto Prada was too late with his big tackle. Referee Florian Jandl not only awarded penalties, but ruled out the Spaniard with yellow/red. Ibrahima Drame converted the penalty that was due.

The game seemed decided six minutes later: Marco Kadlec defeated Steyr goalkeeper Thomas Turner from long-range – 3-0 (51st). Outnumbered, coach Daniel Madlener’s team still managed to make it 1:3 (56th) with a volley from Julian Turi. Vorwrts had chances to score, but it was the first defeat following seven unbeaten games.

Will Tor be overtime?

Blau-Wei Linz remained unbeaten in the spring: Yesterday’s 3-0 win over the second team Rapids was the second win in a row. Fabian Neumayr (50th) scored the lead at the beginning of the second half: the 23-year-old winter signing scored his first professional goal for Linz following assisting Manuel Maranda. Michael Brandner extended the lead in the 58th minute with a long-range goal, while Anteo Fetahu made it 3-0 in added time (93′).

Yesterday, the Linz fans who had traveled with us cheered regarding Kapitn Brandner’s third goal of the season – soon they will also be able to look forward to signing a new contract: the players and the club have agreed verbally.
