Anemia occurs when you have an iron deficiency, when your body does not have enough blood cells to produce hemoglobin.
Therefore, when hemoglobin decreases and red blood cells decrease, the body’s cells cannot get enough oxygen.
Iron is an important mineral that the body needs to produce hemoglobin, as part of the red blood cells that carry oxygen around the body.
In this regard, Dr. Essam Ali, a consultant blood and bone marrow specialist at the Armed Forces Hospitals and a fellow at Eisenhower Hospital in the United States, says that there are signs that appear on the body when it is discovered that anemia must be present.
And through his official account on the social networking site “Facebook”, the hematology consultant said that there are signs that if you appear that there is an iron deficiency, they are as follows:
1- Feeling weak or feeling tired from the slightest effort.
2- Feeling dizzy or fainting.
3- Headache.
4- Having difficulty concentrating
He noted the need to get the deficiency from your diet because your body cannot produce iron.
How do I know if I have anemia?
A blood test is the only way to confirm infection, and a repeat test every 3 weeks to ensure correct hemoglobin levels.
How is anemia treated?
If the result of the diagnosis is that you have anemia, you will make some choices and how to receive treatment, through the specialist doctor. Most of the time, you will start using a diet that contains the following foods:
Red meat:
Especially the liver, which is a key factor in compensating for the lack of iron in the blood, because it contains vitamins B12 and B6, which play a role in the formation of red blood cells.
Eating fish:
Seafood contains large amounts of iron and omega-3 that adequately meet the body’s need for iron, such as oysters, mussels, shrimp and salmon.
Spinach:
It is a vegetable rich in iron, which strengthens the blood. It also contains antioxidants that rid the body and protect it from impurities and toxins.
Peanut Butter:
Peanut butter is a very rich source of iron.
Whole grains:
They are found in lentils, chickpeas, brown bread, rice, and beans, as they contain a high percentage of iron and other vitamins. In addition to nuts such as hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, cashews, and pistachios, they contain important minerals such as iron, calcium, and many vitamins as well.
