Rome – A twinning agreement between Dakhla and the city of Crotone was signed on Saturday with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in territorial promotion and management capacity building.
Signed by the President of the Municipal Council of Dakhla, Erragheb Hormatallah and the Mayor of Crotone, Vincenzo Voce, “this agreement is part of the consolidation of the decentralized cooperation of Moroccan municipalities and the strategic partnership signed between the Kingdom and the ‘Italy in 2019,’ said Morocco’s ambassador to Rome, Youssef Balla, during the signing ceremony.
“This agreement opens up promising prospects for cooperation between the two cities in different sectors, including agro-industry, tourism and renewable energies,” explained the diplomat.
Mr. Balla took the opportunity to highlight the strengths of Dakhla, in this case the structuring projects carried out under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and the favorable business climate, noting that the city is now setting itself up as a center of economic attractiveness, intercultural dialogue and reference in terms of sustainable development.
For his part, the President of the Municipal Council of Dakhla expressed his firm desire to establish friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the Italian city in all sectors of common interest, stressing that the municipality of Dakhla is aware of the impact that such a surge of cooperation and partnership might have and is committed with all its potential and assets to work for the success of this twinning.
This agreement will provide the city of Dakhla with international influence and partnership prospects that can contribute positively to its economic and social development.
The twinned municipalities undertake to foster all types of reciprocal relations, defining the appropriate activities such as commercial cooperation, cultural heritage, tourism, environmental protection and the promotion of sport and the associative sector.
The municipality of Dakhla and the city of Crotone will thus contribute to making known the culture of the two countries and to deepen cooperation in various fields, in addition to sharing expertise and strengthening exchanges.
In addition to the Consul General of Morocco in Naples, Abdelkader Naji, a Moroccan delegation made up of the President of the Dakhla Regional Council, Hammia Mohamed Salem and the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Dakhla region, Jamal Boussif, took part in the signing ceremony.
