ABU DHABI/DUBAI/UMMULKHUWAIN ∙ On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered the release of 998 prisoners from various prisons. At the same time, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum ordered the release of 650 inmates from prisons in Dubai, and Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla ordered the release of prisoners from various prisons in Umm Al Quwain.

The released prisoners are those who have been sentenced in various cases. Here good behavior during the period of punishment is considered for release. All the three rulers wished that all those who were released would soon be reunited with their families and lead a better life.
