An action in the Netherlands has enabled an anti-piracy group to neutralize IPTV traffic in the country.
At the end of April, the anti-piracy group BREIN neutralized an illegal IPTV dealer in the Netherlands. Said reseller managed a platform called All-in-One-Premium-TV on which he resold IPTV boxes with subscriptions in a completely illegal manner.
His traffic would have allowed him to amass a small fortune. The man resold his boxes in the Netherlands but also in neighboring countries.
BREIN contacted the IPTV reseller shortly following having formally identified him. The man had managed to remain anonymous for years. He quickly agreed to cease his activities and to communicate all the details of his totally illegal business to the group. His attitude allowed him to avoid a heavy penalty. An agreement has been reached for a single payment of €2,500. A close stipulates however that in the event of resumption of its activities, the man will have to pay 500€ of expenses per day.
For the past few months, the organization has neutralized several IPTV resellers and online streaming and download platforms in the Netherlands.
For the customers of the reseller who has been neutralized, the cessation of activities might mean a permanent cut in services. However, no details have been released on this subject.
