12’400 free jobs!
The 50 largest Swiss companies want to hire a lot
Skilled workers are desperately needed throughout Switzerland. Now it’s hitting big companies too. The 50 largest Swiss companies are looking for a total of 12,400 employees. This is 34 percent more than in the previous month.
The labor shortage in Switzerland is also becoming increasingly noticeable in large companies. The number of jobs that the 50 largest Swiss companies are looking for has risen sharply in the past month.
A total of around 12,400 jobs are advertised on the websites of these companies. That is 34 percent more than a month ago. This shows a regular evaluation of advertisements by the job portal Indeed, on behalf of the news agency AWP.
The search for staff picks up once more towards the end of the summer. This is following the number of advertised positions remained relatively constant in July. The reason for this may be that the recruitment of new staff is scaled back somewhat during the summer holidays.
Major distributors are looking with vigour
Almost 4,900 jobs are advertised at the major distributor Migros alone. This is more than twice as many job advertisements as in June. With around 2,200 advertised positions, Coop also has 13 percent more open jobs on its website than a month ago. And according to Indeed, there are also many more jobs advertised at the Coop subsidiary Bell.
But there are also companies where the number of advertised positions has fallen sharply in recent weeks, such as the hearing aid manufacturer Sonova. And the number of vacancies at the pharmaceutical supplier Lonza or the biotech company CSL Behring has also decreased in the last month. (SDA/shq)
