A contract for the study of additional Pinios dam projects in Ilia was signed by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras.
As Christos Staikouras pointed out, “The Pinios dam in Ilia is an important project for the water supply and agricultural activity of the wider region”. The project will contribute to its renovation, accessibility, insurance and promotion and irrigation and water saving projects of the Municipality of Oleni Ilia.
The Minister of Infrastructure stated: “The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport attaches particular importance to the management of water resources.
The Pinio dam in Ilia is an important project for the water supply and agricultural activity of the wider area.
We are signing, today, the contract to study the additional works required in order to support, highlight and enrich the value of this infrastructure.
This is a project that will strengthen the sustainability and resilience of the dam, giving life to the local community and economy.”
Present at the signing of the contract was the President of the Special Standing Committee for Environmental Protection of the Parliament, Member of Parliament for Ilia, Dionysia – Theodora Avgerinopoulou.
The contractual scope of the study includes:
The design of new irrigation networks in Manolada, with a total area of 114,000 sq.
The improvement of the operating conditions of the constructed networks of TOEB Myrtountia.
The design of new irrigation projects, 18,370 acres, and water supply of the Municipality of Oleni.
The environmental upgrading of the lakeside areas.
The exploitation of the fishery of the reservoir.
The estimated fee amounts to 8,610,434.72 euros including VAT.
