Sidelining Rivalries: The Battle for Hospital Supremacy Begins This Fall

From October 7 to 11, the Premiers de Cordée association is organizing the 20th edition of Sports Week at the Hospital. An exceptional event on the program of the Great National Cause 2024, dedicated to the promotion of Physical and Sporting Activity. The principle: 5 days, 5 disciplines for hospitalized children and their caregivers.

The goal: to offer them a moment around sports practice and participate in their physical and mental well-being. 100 hospital services in mainland France and the French overseas territories (Reims University Hospital, Bordeaux University Hospital, Hospices Civils de Lyon, Robert-Debré AP-HP Hospital, Lille University Hospital, Lenval University Hospital in Nice, Martinique University Hospital, etc.) will benefit from this exceptional device.

In total, more than 300 physical activity sessions for health purposes will be set up thanks to the support of the sports movement (Federations, Leagues, Committees and clubs). Sports such as football, athletics, basketball, tennis, judo, hockey and even handball will be practiced.

The icing on the cake, champions will be present on certain stages. The holding of Sports Week at the Hospital 2024 is made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the National Sports Agency, Matmut, the Engie Foundation and Basic-Fit .

The Premiers de Cordée association offers free, all year round, sports initiations for hospitalized children and/or children with disabilities. It is chaired by Nathalie Péchalat and sponsored by Kylian Mbappé, Thierry Omeyer, Maxime Médard, Vincent Clerc, Marion Rousse, Arsène Wenger, Benjamin Ferré and Stéphane Houdet. Premiers de Cordée has also developed Hopi Sport, a multi-activity mobile tower that moves from room to room in the hospital, to allow children who cannot move around to also practice physical activity.
