This is an amount close to that collected last year. The association Sidaction received just over 3.9 million euros from pledges for the struggle against AIDS during its annual collection which took place this weekend, she announced this Sunday, March 26, 2023, in a press release.

The association had already collected 4 million euros last year, a little less than the record of 4.5 million reached in 2019 and almost repeated in 2021.

You can still donate…

Until April 6, you can still donate by phone: by calling 110 (freephone number), “but also all year round on the Internet at www.sidaction.orgby mail: Sidaction – 228, rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin 75010 Paris or by SMS to 92110: by sending the word DON to make a donation of 5 euros (cost of sending the SMS free or included in the SMS packages)” , recalls the Sidaction association.

In a press release, the general manager of Sidaction, Florence Thune, indicated that this stability “underlines the commitment and the confidence” of the donors, while “inflation weighs on the economic situation of the French who have to make a lot of sacrifices” .

“New infections are still too many”

These funds “will be donated to research and care programs and to associative programs for the care and assistance of people living with HIV, in France and internationally”, specifies Sidaction.

40 years after the discovery of the virus responsible for AIDS, “new infections are still too numerous and millions of people do not have access to treatment”, said Florence Thune.
