One hundred and 21 portions of high voltage tower angles, supposedly removed from electricity transmission lines, were seized, Wednesday, by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), in the province of Zaire.
The information was provided to the press this Thursday by the spokesperson for the Zaire Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of the Interior, Sérgio Afonso, stressing that the seizures occurred in the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo and Soyo.
During the police operation resulting from a public complaint, the SIC also seized 8,200 tons of scrap, as well as two individuals accused of vandalizing high-voltage electricity towers.
The two alleged perpetrators and the seized media will be presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the coming days, as the Minint spokesperson in Zaire said.
In addition to high voltage tower angles, these days the National Police in Zaire have also recovered considerable quantities of electrical cables, allegedly stolen.
