Indonesian women’s singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung happy to have passed his first opponent in Arctic Open 2024. Next there is Zhang Yi Man from China.

Appearing on the first day of the BWF Super 500 tournament, which has been running since Tuesday (9/10/2024), Gregoria faced Denmark’s best women’s singles player, Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt, winning 21-16, 21-11.

“Thank God, today I was able to win against Line Højmark, in the first round I was quite chasing points and was behind by 13-16, but in the end I was able to turn things around and win the first game with a score of 21-16,” said Gregorian in a short quote via PBSI.

“I was quite happy when I was able to get through that moment, and winning in the first game was my motivation to face Line in the second game. Because to be honest, the points were quite tight, making me too careful in the game, and I had to get out of shape. like that,” he said.

This victory not only brought Jorji, as Gregoria is affectionately known, to the round of 16 Arctic Open 2024. These results further strengthened his dominance over Line.

Currently, Gregoria’s head to head against the world number 19 is 4-0. Gregoria achieved three other wins against Line at the 2018 Denmark Open with scores of 20-22, 21-19, 21-13.

Then at the 2017 Japan Open, he won two games 21-15 and 21-17. Then All England 2023, Gregoria won over the tight age line 15-21, 21-12, 22-20.
