Mumbai: Batsman Shubman Gill did not have a good tour of the Caribbean. But his half-century in the fourth T20I once morest the West Indies at Lauderhill, Florida, became the achievement in the ICC Men’s T20 Player Rankings. The actor has reached a career-best 25th position. Gill improved 43 places following scoring 77 and nine in the last two T20Is in West Indies’ 3-2 win over the five-match series.
Gill’s opening partner Yashaswi Jaiswal also made rapid progress as he added 165 runs in the fourth match. The star, who made his debut in the third match of the series, scored an unbeaten 84 off 51 balls in the fourth T20I to climb more than a thousand places to reach the 88th position.
West Indies opener Brandon King batted at number 13, while Kyle Meyers climbed two places to number 45. Shimron Hetmyer rose 16 spots to 85th.
In the bowlers’ rankings, West Indies left-arm spinner Akel Hossain has climbed three places to 11th and Jason Holder has climbed two places to 25th. Romario Shepard’s four-wicket haul in the last match helped them climb 20 places to 63rd.
India’s left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav improved 23 places to 28th position.
