The performances of Shubman Gill and veteran Indian pacer Mohammad Shami were the highlights of Gujarat Titans’ emphatic win over Hyderabad in Match 62 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday. After Gill’s scintillating century in the first innings, Shami wreaked havoc on the Hyderabad line-up, picking up wickets during the run chase.
The 32-year-old Shami took the reins for Sunrisers in the powerplay itself, dismissing Anmolpreet Singh, Aiden Markram and Rahul Tripathi. Also, Shami showed his class once once more by sending Hentich Klaasen back to the pavilion. Klaassen, who scored 64 runs in 44 balls, was going ahead with Shami’s blow.
In the post-match presentation, Ravi Shastri asked Shami to reveal the secret behind his success and also came up with a question regarding his diet. He replied jokingly. ‘Gujarat me hu, mera khana nahi milega na.’ (I’m in Gujarat, I don’t get the food I like) Shami replied sarcastically.
