DreamWorks Animations is preparing to release Shrek 5 in 2025. This became known from the profile description on LinkedIn of an intern who worked at NBC Universal, the parent company of DreamWorks. This information and the page itself were later removed.
Neither DreamWorks nor NBC Universal have officially announced a new part of Shrek. At the same time, in April information appeared that the company had already begun work on a sequel. Then it became known that the same voice actors who gave their voices to the characters in the original “Shrek” and its sequels were called to work on the project.
The first cartoon “Shrek” was released in 2001. Later, DreamWorks studio released four more full-length films, three special short films, and two spin-offs regarding Puss in Boots.
