How do I pay for a lawsuit?

If you have a lawsuit that is already in progress and you cannot pay this lawsuit, what should you do?

  1. The first thing to do is to call the Debt Collection Office to ask if you can make a payment arrangement.
  2. Then, if the Prosecution Office refuses, you must immediately call the person or company who sued you, to ask them if you can make an arrangement with them, which includes the prosecution costs.
  3. Finally, if you have the amount due, refuse the lawsuit by filing an objection and sending proof of payment to the supplier who put you in the lawsuit, so that he can cancel the lawsuit. Consider requesting a counter-order so that you can see if the dispute has been removed.

If you have requested one or more payment arrangements and you are no longer able to respect this agreement, what should you do?

  1. First of all, be careful! It is absolutely necessary to respect an arrangement, otherwise the agreement may be canceled and your case may end up in litigation.
  2. Then, call back the supplier in question and explain your situation to them so that they can give you additional time.
  3. Then, request a new payment arrangement with the amount you still owe.
  4. Finally, call the creditor and ask them to block reminders for the bill(s). Be careful on your part to be sure you can pay the invoice(s).
