Maria Sapundjieva was awarded for the female role – for Mary in the play “Jealousy” by Sam Bobrik (DT “Adriana Budevska” and TC “Viva Arte”). “Deep in my heart, I dedicate this award to the great Velko Kanev. He is the man who got me into comedy, made me love this genre deep in my soul. It taught me that this genre is very special and requires a lot of work and a lot of love. He is the man who took me 15 years ago to the Burgas theater, which he loved very much. He showed me this place and a part of my heart stayed there,” said the actress.
For a male role, Ruslan Mynov was awarded – for the production “Urban Legend” by Aleksey Klas (DT “Adriana Budevska”, Burgas). He thanked the Satirical Theater for paying attention to “this wonderful genre – the satirical-comedy”, which in the words he is underestimated. “This is a huge amount of work,” he said. In the “Young Hope” category, the winner is Ilina Ilieva – for Puck in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Shakespeare (DT “Geo Milev”, Stara Zagora). “Thanks to Elena Panayotova, for giving me a chance to release all the craziness on stage,” she said following receiving the plaque. For directing, the award went to Elena Panayotova – for the same production.
For the performance “Golden Kukericon” was given to “Fat Pig” by Neil LaBute of the “Nikolay Binev” Youth Theater. Nina Dimitrova received the “Golden Kukericon” for overall work in the name of Georgi Kaloyanchev. The director was awarded for the three creative decades of the “Credo” theater.
“Salute and gratitude to all of you for the award given to me and the three decades of the “Credo” theater. I accept it not as an award for myself, because behind this “Credo” there are many people, no matter how small it may seem. I just am pushed, because I was born under the sign of the wheelbarrow. However, many people pushed with me, with their Sisyphean efforts,” said Nina Dimitrova and added that the award is also for the theater that has supported “Credo” for 30 years – Theater 199.
Among the heroes of the show was Tuti Papuzov, who through tears explained that “only tragedy can unite this Bulgarian people and make it a great nation”. The babbling politician Lyubo Dimov said that he will fight for changes in the Bulgarian language and the removal of х, ш, ж, ж. The other politician, Dolu Danev, named his party following the winning show “Fat Pig”. A Roma family and an entire cabinet, composed of the broad political coalition “Bulgaria without a people”, also came out. The presenters were grandmother Kalina (Kalin Sarmenov) and grandfather Sasho (Alexandra Sarchadzhieva). The Satirata band performed super hits: FSB’s “Pak sze sekkernem” by Todor Kolev, “Lele, kako” by “Control”, “Bezzejden kasad” by Bohdana Karadochea and Stefan Dimitrov.
