But Big Dollar will not say anything regarding the actual location of the new stores.

But if you have driven past City Syd in Aalborg recently, you might have noticed a large construction site at the intersection between Nibevej and Tyren.

There are indications that this is where the Aalborg version of Big Dollar should be – if you are to believe what is written on the sign at the construction site.

Here hangs a sign that says “Big Dollar Aalborg” and a QR code that you can scan to see the PSS page for the construction site.

If the sign is true and this is the location of the new Big Dollar store in Aalborg, country manager at Big Dollar Peter Jakobsen will neither confirm nor deny.

Overtaken by Frederikshavn

The location of the store in Thisted has also not been confirmed yet, but back in 2023 there were plans to build a Big Dollar store next to Harald Nyborg at Østerbakken 97.

At the time, the necessary permits from the municipality to start construction had not been obtained, and therefore Thisted was overtaken by Frederikshavn, which got its Big Dollar store earlier this year.

But now it will soon be Thisted’s turn to be able to go hunting in the Swedish discount chain.
