Senior Indian POLITICIAN Baba Siddique was shot by three assailants at his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra on Saturday (12/10) evening. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital as doctors tried to treat him for the two gunshot wounds he suffered. However, he died from his injuries. He is 66 years old.
To the world of politics, Baba Siddique is a leader, a former member of parliament, and a kind of messiah. But for the film industry, he is a protector and often a mediator, as he proved effectively a decade ago.
It was 2013 when two of Hindi cinema’s biggest superstars–Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan–were in the midst of a cold war. The two close friends had a disagreement on Salman’s then girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s birthday and were reportedly no longer on good terms.

Bollywood is divided into factions and producers are worried about the power struggle between the two biggest stars. In comes Baba Siddique, a man who doesn’t have much connection with cinema. The politician not only ended the fight but did so in a way that made the two Khans once again the best of friends in the entertainment industry.
Baba Siddique is a politician living in Mumbai and currently serving as a member of parliament from the Bandra West constituency. The fast-breaking party he holds every Eid is a highlight of social events in south Mumbai and is attended by everyone of interest in the city. Bollywood, of course, is present.
It is said that Siddique was asked to mediate between Salman and Shah Rukh by entertainment industry insiders. The political leader found a subtle way to do it. He seated Shah Rukh next to Salman’s father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, at the party.

In the video, which has since gone viral and been viewed more than a million times, Shah Rukh is seen talking to Salim Khan moments before Salman approaches the table. Shah Rukh stood up and the two stars nodded at each other in thanks before greeting each other with a hug.
Baba Siddique then joined them and asked the photographers to take pictures. And just like that, Bollywood’s biggest feud was ended by Siddique with just Eid goodwill and good family ties.
