In the Tiangong Building of the University of Science and Technology on the side of Xueyuan Road, there is a name at the entrance of the Ultra HD Video (Beijing) Production Technology Collaboration Center, an industrial collaboration service platform jointly built by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Beijing Municipality – Beijing Science and Technology Winter Olympics 8K Content Display Monitoring (command) center.
According to reports, the world’s first 5G+8K full-service OB van independently designed and integrated by the Collaboration Center for the Beijing Winter Olympics entered the Winter Olympics for the first time, deployed in the Capital Gymnasium, and assembled the best technical support service team. Provide a full range of equipment and technical support services, and cooperate with the Central Radio and Television Station to broadcast the full 8K live broadcast of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics short track speed skating and figure skating events. At the same time, the Collaboration Center also cooperated with China Central Radio and Television Station to jointly build a broadcast system at the Beijing National Speed Skating Stadium and jointly complete the production of 8K public signals for the Winter Olympics speed skating events.
The Beijing Winter Olympics is the world’s first large-scale live broadcast of sports events using 8K technology. The project implementation period is from mid-January 2022 to mid-March 2022, with a total of more than 45 days. The actual live broadcast of the event will be broadcast for a total of 17 consecutive days from February 4 to February 20, 2022, with regarding 80 live broadcasts.

At present, the platform design integrates the world’s leading 5G+8K OB van, and the localization rate of complete vehicle equipment has reached 20%, which has promoted the industrialization and large-scale development of key upstream and downstream technologies and links in the industrial chain such as chips, storage, transmission, and display.
