Short Track Hwang Dae-heon, “From Athlete to Public Relations Ambassador”

Korea Ice Skating Federation President Yoon Hong-geun, chairman of the Genesis BBQ Group, announced on the 9th that he had appointed Hwang Dae-heon (Gangwon Provincial Office), a former national short-track athlete, as the official public relations ambassador for the 2023 ISU World Short Track Championships. The federation held a public relations ambassador appointment ceremony at the Genesis BBQ Group International Conference Room one month before the opening of the World Short Track Championships.

Hwang Dae-heon, who was a short track national team member in the 2021/22 season, has been active as a key player in the national team, winning the men’s 500m silver medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the men’s 1,500m gold medal and the relay relay silver medal at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Hwang Dae-heon, who attended the event, said, “It is an honor to be appointed as an honorary ambassador for a big event, the 2023 ISU World Short Track Speed ​​Skating Championships. I will do my best,” he said.

Korea Skating Federation President Hong-geun Yoon (Chairman of the Genesis BBQ Group) said, “I am grateful that Hwang Dae-heon, who can be called the signboard of Korea’s short track speed skating, readily accepted the position of public relations ambassador for the successful hosting of the event.” I will do my best for you,” he said.

The 2023 ISU World Short Track Speed ​​Skating Championships will be held at the ice rink in Mok-dong, Seoul from March 10 (Fri) to 12 (Sun), with a total of 260 athletes from 35 countries scheduled to participate.
