Frederikshavn Municipality will stop working with the private care company Aktiv Hverdag Hjemmepleje at short notice.
This is already happening with effect from 1 May, when the municipality will take home the approximately 100 citizens who are currently being cared for and cleaned by the private care company with approximately 130 employees.
For a long time, there has been a focus on the working conditions at Aktiv Hverdag, and employees in Nordjyske, among other places, have come forward with criticism of pay and working conditions.
But the interruption of the collaboration has nothing to do with the criticism, stresses chairman of the social and health committee in Frederikshavn Municipality, Ole Rørbæk Jensen (S).
– We have been very satisfied with the collaboration. It is Aktiv Hverdag Hjemmpleje that has itself taken the initiative to stop the collaboration. The justification from the company has been that it is financially distressed, explains Ole Rørbæk Jensen.
Nordjyske has tried to get a comment from the director of Aktiv Hverdag Hjemmepleje, Susanne Anesen, but it has not been possible.
In practice, the interruption of the collaboration means that the approximately 100 citizens who have received care from Aktiv Hverdag Hjemmepleje will for the time being receive municipal home care and cleaning.
There are also approximately 100 employees at the private company who have been associated with the affected and searched citizens, and according to the committee chairman, they are offered to accompany them over to the municipality, so that the citizens will in many cases experience that it is the same carers who continue to comes to them.
– Of course it will not happen to the full extent, but we will provide thorough information regarding the changes, says Ole Rørbæk, who cannot provide more details regarding the reason for the collaboration ending.
According to the law, a municipality must have a private alternative to municipal home care, and therefore Frederikshavn Municipality has now started to find another private partner that offers home care.
