A Shopee opened this Friday (3) its 9th distribution center in Brazil. The space is located in Guarulhos, in Greater São Paulo, and comes to reinforce the company’s logistics network in the country, which currently has DCs in the states of Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Minas Gerais (MG), Paraná (PR), Bahia (BA) and Pernambuco (PE), operating in the cross-docking.
With this distribution format, the Asian platform does not keep products in its physical stock, thus saving space, while its logistics partners collect the goods sold from sellers. The distribution center is responsible for directing items to carriers, who in turn take the order to the customer.
This is Shopee’s fourth CD in São Paulo, being the second largest in the state of São Paulo, second only to the Santana de Parnaíba unit, located in the West Zone of the São Paulo Metropolitan Region, which has more than 10 thousand m².
“The opening of the new space aims to increasingly improve the experience of Brazilian consumers and sellers, by optimizing processes from product collection to delivery,” the company said in a statement. This expands the logistical capacity of e-commerce, reinforcing its operations across the country.
For the future, Shopee is expected to continue expanding its operations in Brazil with the announcement of new distribution centers in more regions of the country.
