It is expected that there will be many areas where it will be sunny over a wide area and you can see it perfectly. However, it seems that some parts of Hokkaido, Nagano, the southern part of the Kanto region, and the Pacific side of western Japan will be covered with clouds.

In Okinawa, which has already entered the rainy season, it is easy to rain, and it will be quite difficult to observe meteors.

The radiant point rises in the sky after 1 am, so the meteor shower will not start appearing until the date changes.

This year, the observation conditions are relatively good because it is not affected by the moonlight, but in the northern hemisphere, the observable time will be shorter than in the southern hemisphere because the dawn will come before the radiant rises high.

May 6th (Friday) around 3:30 East Sky (Tokyo)

The Aquarius η meteor shower is a meteor shower that reaches its maximum activity at the end of Golden Week in May every year. The parent body is Halley’s Comet (1P / Halley), which is the same as the Orion meteor shower that reaches its maximum in autumn. In the Southern Hemisphere, observations at dawn are favorable conditions at late sunrise, and it is said that meteors comparable to the Perseids meteor shower of the three major meteor showers may be seen.

Similar meteors can be observed for several days before and after the maximum. If it is difficult to observe on the maximum day, please enjoy it on another day.
