Shooting Stars: all about the biopic dedicated to NBA star LeBron James

A star of the NBA courts for twenty years, LeBron James will be at the heart of the biopic “Shooting Stars”, which will look back on his humble beginnings in the city of Akron, in the State of Ohio, until his irresistible rise to the top of the best basketball league in the world.

The journey of a giant. Adaptation of the book co-written by author Buzz Bissinger and LeBron James himself, the film “Shooting Stars” promises to look back on the life and career of the man who is, still today, following twenty years of career in NBA, at the top of its sport. Directed by Chris Robinson, the feature film will look back on his childhood spent in the small town of Akron, in the State of Ohio, where he will develop his passion for basketball alongside his best friends.

The film will be launched on June 2 on the American streaming platform Peacock. No broadcaster in France has announced its intention to offer it on the territory for the moment. A few days ago, a promotional teaser was released by Peacock.

In the credits, viewers will find Marquis ‘Mookie’ Cook as LeBron James in his youth. Caleb McLaughlin, known for his role in the hit series “Stranger Things”, will also be present in the cast. With also Khalil Everage (Cobra Kaï), Dermot Mulroney, or even Avery Wills Jr. Note the presence on the screen of Sterling ‘Scoot’ Henderson, the player scheduled to be selected in second position for the next NBA Draft behind the phenomenon French, Victor Wembanyama.
