At least seven people died and two more were injured, including minors, following a shooting attack early Sunday, February 18, in a popular neighborhood in the municipality of Tlaquepaque, confirmed the Attorney General’s Office of Jalisco (western Mexico). .
The attorney general of the western Mexican state of Jalisco, Luis Joaquín Méndez, announced this Monday, February 19, the death of a teenager injured on Sunday the 18th during a shooting in a popular neighborhood in the municipality of Tlaquepaque, so the victim count rose to seven.

According to local media, the group of young people, among whom were two women, was on a corner of the Buenos Aires neighborhood, in that municipality near the city of Guadalajara, when they were attacked by gunfire from a car. .
The two injured people, including the teenager who died this Monday the 19th, were transferred to nearby hospitals in serious condition.
“To update you that, early in the evening, the other teenager who was injured died,” Méndez explained to reporters.
According to some media, the event has left five minor victims, in addition to two people between 20 and 25 years old who also lost their lives.
Although the State Prosecutor’s Office is considering the possibility that the group had a fight with other people in a bar, an event that is not confirmed, the current hypothesis is that it would be a direct attack on these young people.
For a few weeks now, the Jalisco Attorney General’s Office (FGE-Jalisco) and the Army have reinforced security in the municipality, following two other previous multi-homicides.
“We are going to wait for the analysis and response from Ballistics because, as we possibly come across some other positive events that are related to organized crime, we might continue to maintain this position,” argued Méndez.
In this sense, he revealed that the attackers would be “a group that carries out this type of activities in this area”, regarding which “some data is already available.”

Furthermore, the other injured person, a teenager, gave some “very preliminary versions” that allow the version of direct aggression to be supported, even though, due to her injuries, she has not yet been able to formally testify.
Finally, Méndez recalled that the public ministry continues with the identification of the “vehicles that caused” the massacre and the work to proceed with the arrest of the attackers.
