Direskrimun Polda West Sumatra Kombes Andry Kurniawan stated that the Head of Operations for the South Solok Police, AKP Dadang Iskandar, was involved in the shocking shooting incident targeting the official residence of Police Chief AKBP Arief Mukti shortly after he allegedly killed the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Ryanto Ulil Anshari.
According to Andry, the authorities discovered six spent bullet casings at the scene, which were fired from the weapon used by the suspect at the official residence of the South Solok Police Chief, a location alarmingly situated only about 20 meters away from where AKP Ulil was murdered.
“Based on the crime scene investigation, there was indeed a shooting at the Police Chief’s house. We found projectiles and casings there. We found six casings around the Police Chief’s official residence,” said Andry during a press statement at the West Sumatra Police Headquarters, Saturday (23/11).
The police chief, along with others in the house at the time, managed to escape unharmed, despite the gunfire erupting around them. “The Police Chief was in the house when the shooting occurred. Our investigation is focused on whether the shooter intended to kill the police chief,” Andry elaborated.
The shocking shooting incident involving the South Solok Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, AKP Riyanto Ulil Anshari, carried out by the Ops Head, AKP Dadang Iskandar, took place at approximately 00:15 WIB Friday morning, raising serious concerns among local law enforcement.
There is a strong suspicion that the motive behind the shooting may be linked to the recent disclosure of a significant mining case that had been under investigation by the unit led by Ulil.
