ANAHEIM — Shohei Ohtani struck out nine in six innings, Mickey Moniak had his second big hit of the series and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Minnesota Twins 4-2 on Sunday.

Ohtani went without a decision despite allowing one run and two hits. It was the fourth time in 10 starts this season that the Japanese had nine or more strikeouts.

He leads the majors with a .142 opponent batting average and is third in strikeouts with 80.

Moniak, who hit a game-tying triple on Friday, hit a two-run double in the seventh to give the Angels a 3-1 lead.

Alex Kirilloff homered and Carlos Correa hit an RBI double for the Twins, who lost four of six games on their tour of Southern California.

Chris Devenski (2-0) earned the win and Carlos Estevez earned his 12th save.

Correa had the Twins’ first hit in the third inning. His double drove in Joey Gallo, who reached following being walked.

For the Twins, Puerto Ricans Correa 4-1 with an RBI, Willi Castro 4-3. The Colombian Donovan Solano 3-0.

For the Angels, the Colombian Gio Urshela 3-1 with one scored and one produced. The Venezuelan Luis Rengifo of 4-1.
