A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 hit the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan! Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers team jointly donated 1 million US dollars, equivalent to 145 million yen, for disaster relief.

Shohei Otani posted this on IG on the 5th, saying, “The Los Angeles Dodgers and I will donate 1 million US dollars to the Noto Peninsula earthquake relief work. We stand with the Japanese. In addition to expressing our condolences, we also We pray that the missing persons will be found as soon as possible and that the disaster-stricken areas can be rebuilt as soon as possible.”

Shohei Ohtani signed a record-breaking 10-year $700 million contract with the Dodgers after the 2023 season. He also offered to receive only a salary of $2 million per year during the 10-year contract, and the remaining salary would be deferred for the next 10 years. Now that there is an earthquake in the motherland, Otani once again generously donated 1 million U.S. dollars together with Dodge. Although the proportion shared by both parties is unknown, it once again showed Otani’s warm-hearted side.
