The Moroccan operator Shoeleven Company inaugurated on May 27 in Casablanca a new industrial shoe unit. The result of an association with the FLO group, the Turkish leader in the manufacture of shoes, this platform will rely on the manufacture of certain brands of the group intended for export and the local market, including the OCTO brand developed especially for the Moroccan market.
An inauguration ceremony which was chaired by Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, in the presence of Azzedine Jettou, General Manager of Shoeleven Company. Totaling 20 million dirhams, this investment, which benefited from the Istitmar program as part of the Project Bank, will create 500 jobs and develop local sourcing for Groupe Flo via partnerships with local manufacturers. This project should also generate a turnover of 85 million dirhams, 50% of which is intended for the local market. As for the production capacity, it will be increased to 2,400 pairs per day.

On this occasion, Mr. Mezzour declared: “this project illustrates the win-win Turkish-Moroccan industrial partnership and offers the opportunity for our young people to forge their talents and for local manufacturers to increase their competitiveness thanks to local sourcing. It will make it possible to contribute to the dynamics of the sector at the regional level and to further develop local quality production aimed at making made in Morocco a world reference”.
