Shocking Video: Water Damaged Amboy Creek Bridge

A strong storm it precipitated in the followingnoon of this Monday on the central regions of the map of the province of Córdoba.

There was rainfall of more than 150 millimeters in a sector of the Calamuchita valley, accompanied in some sectors by hail. In general, there was no significant damage, except in the surroundings of the Amboy commune, where the stream that crosses that town, located between Embalse and Santa Rosa, overflowed.

The worst consequence was for a bridge over the road that connects that town with the shoreline of Embalse Lake, which was partly affected by the flow of the stream. That bridge had been built years ago by the Province following another flood destroyed the previous one.

Sources from the Amboy commune indicated on Monday night that the damage was not on the structure itself but on the alleviators.

In any case, the diagnosis can be confirmed when the flow drops, possibly this Tuesday. In Amboy and its neighbor Villa Amancay there were other problems in urban areas due to the intense rainfall.

The rains were particularly copious also in the Alta Gracia area. In that city, due to the sudden swelling of the streams, several fords had to be cut and there was water inside numerous homes, although evacuations are necessary.

From the volunteer fire station it was indicated that 60 millimeters fell in one hour. The hardest task was to help a car, without occupants, that the flow of a stream dragged.

In other regions there were also alerts for strong winds, heavy rains and some hail.

In Sierras Chicas, for example, some trees, poles and signs fell, but without serious consequences.

Some inconveniences were also reported in sectors of the Traslasierra Valley.
