Shocking video.. A health care worker beats a dog to death after its owner was confirmed to have coronavirus

Shanghai is undergoing a citywide lockdown with no end in sight, and some residents are reaching breaking point, speaking frankly.

On Friday, Shanghai reported more than 21,000 new cases of the virus.

With the number of cases rising, China continues to adhere to a strict zero-Covid policy of mass testing, quarantine and lockdown.

And there was growing outrage following a health care worker was caught bludgeoning a corgi to death. This happened at an apartment complex this week following the dog’s owner was moved into quarantine.

A resident filmed a COVID-19 worker hitting a corgi three times with a shovel. The dog died at the scene. CNN has now reached out to the housing committee that oversees that complex, and they’ve told local media that the dog’s owner will be compensated.

The circulating videos confirm these strict measures taken under the zero covid policy, and the hype is only growing.
