Trump’s turn
It is noteworthy that the representatives investigating Trump’s responsibility for the attack began Thursday evening to present the first conclusions, during a hearing that was highly anticipated.
And a parliamentary source had said earlier that the January 6 committee “will present how the chaos of that day was the fruit of a coordinated campaign to blow up the outcome of the 2020 presidential election and prevent the transfer of power from Donald Trump to Joe Biden.”
“We will remind the American people how terrifying it was,” he added.
About a year ago, this parliamentary committee, which includes nine representatives, seven Democrats and two Republicans, listened to more than a thousand witnesses, including two sons of the former Republican president, to shed light on the facts and the actions of Trump and his circles before, during and following this event that shook the foundations of American democracy.
It is noteworthy that on January 6, 2021, thousands of Trump supporters gathered in Washington, on a cold winter day and under thick cloudy skies, to denounce the results of the elections that the Republican billionaire lost, before chaos spread and the scene completely changed, characterizing one of the most shocking days for democracy in country.
