London: Husband sentenced to 40 years in prison for murder of Malayali nurse and two children in UK Chelevalan Saju (52) of Kannur Patiyur Kompanpara was sentenced by the Northamptonshire Court. Saju had pleaded guilty in the case last April.
In December 2022, Anju (35), a nurse from Vaikam, and her children Jhanvi (4) and Jeeva (6) were killed in UK. Saju attacked the three people at their home in Kettering, Northampton. Anju died on the spot and the children later died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The post-mortem report said that all three died of suffocation.
Saju’s statement is that he killed Anju under the influence of alcohol on the suspicion of having an extra-marital affair. Anju killed the children following four hours of deliberation. Anju, a nurse at Kettering General Hospital, and her children were missing and the neighbors informed the police. Saju was at home when the police arrived.
Prosecutor James Newton-Price KC said there was no evidence of Saju’s allegation that Anju had been unfaithful. Said. As part of the investigation, Saju’s phone was checked and it was found that his wife was searching for women on dating websites while she was going to work.
Anju and Saju got married in 2012. Both of them settled in UK in 2021. Saju was working in a private firm in Kettering. After arriving in the UK, some family problems also existed between them. After the news of the murder came out, the family had alleged that Saju was regularly harassing Anju.
