Shocking defeat in the World Cup, Tite resigns as coach of Brazil

Doha: Tite resigned as coach of Brazil following a shocking defeat to Croatia in the World Cup quarter-finals. He is stepping down following coaching the Brazil team for six years from 2016. Brazil won the Copa America under Tite in 2019. In the 2020 Copa, Tite’s Brazil also lost to arch-rivals Argentina in the final.

Tite responded to the decision to resign by saying that he had already announced that he would step down following the Qatar World Cup

Brazil also lost to Belgium in the quarter-finals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. This time, Brazil lost to Croatia following standing at the top of the list of likely winners of the cup. Brazil took the lead in extra time and then conceded the equalizer and lost in the penalty shootout.
