Surgeons were astonished following removing the huge stools of a 53-year-old patient who had been suffering from constipation for some time.
The woman was still suffering from the pain of constipation until she turned to Zhejiang University Hospital in eastern China, to help her pass the giant stool.
The Chinese woman was barely able to get out of bed, because the pain caused by the bloating in her stomach was too great, according to the “dailystar” website.
The woman, called “Hawa”, suffered from constipation for years, and although laxatives were helping her, her condition needed medical attention, as she remained in a deplorable state for 10 days.
According to local media reports, she appeared to be pregnant and her stomach was very swollen. By the time she reached the hospital, feces had accumulated inside her body which in turn made her breathing difficult.
Her relatives demanded that she go to the hospital to get rid of this dangerous matter, and indeed it was removed immediately following going to the hospital, as it was the size of a soccer ball and weighed 20 kilograms.
Doctors discovered that her liver, stomach, small intestine and other organs were under pressure from her expanding intestines, as doctors later diagnosed her with a birth defect that led to the underdevelopment of intestinal nerve cells.
Doctors diagnosed her with Hirschsprung’s disease, which causes stool to move very slowly or even get stuck as it moves along the bowel.
Hospital reports showed that surgeons said it looked like a three-foot snake, but she is now on her way to recovery.
