Hard to believe, but true: A mother from the USA is said to have tried to sell her child to a bank employee walking past.

According to the police, she tried to sell her daughter: Jessica W. was arrested for this in the USA.
She was supposed to protect her, instead Jessica W.* (33) wanted to sell her daughter (18 months) to a stranger just to make some money. The case from the USA is shocking.
W. was lying in front of a bank in Palatka, Florida, on the morning of March 5th. She slept while her child lay in a shopping cart, which the woman apparently used as a stroller.
The child crawled towards the street
A bank employee spotted W. and the child and asked if she needed help. W. is said to be known in the area. She is said to have repeatedly used the bank’s toilet to change her daughter’s diaper, among other things. W. is said to have demanded money from the bank employee, but received none, as US media reports.

Afterwards, W. got up and left, but returned later the same day. She placed her child on the floor in front of the bench and didn’t pay any further attention to the little one, who was apparently crawling towards the street.
Foster family takes care of the girl
A bank employee is said to have picked up the girl. W. asked him if he wanted to buy her daughter. “She told him that she didn’t need anything, but offered him the child for $500 (439 francs),” the local police report said. The bank employee said nothing, went into the bank with the child in his arms and called the police.
The officers took the girl until social workers arrived and took the little one away. The child is now with a foster family. W. was arrested and charged with, among other things, child abuse. (ymh)
