Yesterday, while bus 39 was traveling towards Blaarmeersen near the Ghent inner ring road, a man got up to get off the public transport. That’s when another pulled out a large knife and stabbed him in the neck, HNB reports.

“This man was stabbed in the neck, but I think he was only slightly injured. It was a big knife and everyone on the bus was panicked. Everyone quickly ran away from the bus and the bus driver called the police,” said a young girl who was on the bus.
The assailant finally waved his weapon in the street. The police moved in force to control him. The agents actually targeted him and used a taser as well as rubber bullets.
The prosecution indicates that an investigation is underway. He mentions that the victim was fortunately only slightly injured.
