“Khai surfed his last rally at the Roaders single fin monument, shining on the day and as always offering a hand. He was a standout. He helped kids, made their training fun and they all looked up to him. Khai “He was one of our best students and had to represent the club at the Battle of the Boardriders in March. We are going to surf this for you Khai with all our heart and soul,” he continued.
“You will live on in our hearts and memories, once a Roader always a Roader. We will all miss you dearly and will continue to grind for you,” the post concluded.

For its part, Surfing South Australia also regretted the tragedy: “Following the devastating news that one of our surfers, Khai, was involved in a fatal incident at Ethel Beach on December 28, we have been keeping family and friends of Khai in our thoughts.
“Khai was very involved in our surfing community with his passion for surfing coming from a family with deep surfing roots. He was a happy, kind and respectful boy, much loved by his surfing peers and will be greatly missed in our community and in the water,” they concluded.
