In this situation, former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has advised Azhar Ali to leave the leadership and focus only on batting, in an interview he also claimed that Azhar was made the captain by force.
Shoaib said that Azhar initially did not want to be the Test captain but was forced to do so, PCB unnecessarily put pressure on him and now he is being replaced.
“My advice to Azhar is to focus on his game and declare whether he wants to lead the team or not,” said the former speed merchant. There is no point in working.
It should be remembered that Azhar Ali is considered to be very close to head coach Misbah-ul-Haq, he was made captain on his recommendation.
Recently, he has fallen out of favor with PCB officials for meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan along with Misbah and Hafeez without informing the board regarding cricket reforms.
