Malayalee footballer Shilji Shaji scored a hat-trick as India started with a win in the Under-17 SAF Women’s Championship. In the first match of the tournament in Dhaka, Bangladesh, India defeated defending champions Nepal by four goals to one. Shilji is a player from the academy of Gokulam Kerala FC. This Kozhikode native of Kakkayam is a player who has found his place in Kerala football in the last few seasons.
