New Delhi: Delhi family court granted divorce to Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan. The court observed that the petitioner (Shikhar Dhawan) who suffered cruelty and mental torture from his estranged wife Ayesha Mukherjee was entitled to a divorce from her.
Ayesha Mukherjee did not oppose the allegations made by Dhawan in the divorce petition once morest his wife and the court granted the divorce. Both have been separated since August 2020. Family court judge Harish Kumar pointed out that Ayesha had been living in Australia for many years and kept her only son away and subjected Dhawan to mental torture and the actor was in mental agony. The court blamed Ayesha for this.
Dhawan and Ayesha got married in 2012. Ayesha was a kick boxer in Melbourne. Ayesha, who is 12 years older than Dhawan, has two daughters from her first marriage. The 10-year-old son’s name is Soravar Dhawan. Zoravar and Ayesha are Australian citizens.
Dhawan stated in the petition that he had informed Ayesha that she would not be able to settle down in Australia as she had to advance her career and that her wife had agreed to move to India with her, but later backed out as she would have to leave the custody of the two girls to her ex-husband.
Along with this, Dhawan also alleged that Ayesha forced him to give the right of three properties that he bought in Australia.
A condition has also been included that Dhawan must be allowed to visit his son in India and Australia. The court also ordered that the son be brought to India to stay with Dhawan and his family during the school holidays.
