Actor Sherif Helmy said that a dialogue regarding the details of the art scene took place between him and Adel Imam during a visit to the “leader’s” house, in an indication that information circulated regarding his Alzheimer’s disease was incorrect.
Sherif Helmy explained through his personal account on “Facebook” that Adel Imam asked him regarding theater news and regarding the news of some of those in charge of art in Egypt.
He said that he sat with Adel Al-Imam, accompanied by a number of people, and a discussion took place in all matters of art, and the leader spoke regarding his relationship with Muhammad Abdel Wahab, Faten Hamama, Heikal, Youssef Daoud, Ahmed Ratib, Abdel Rahman Al-Khamisi, Abdel Halim Hafez, Al-Rihani, Ali Al-Kassar, Fouad Al-Muhandis and others.
He continued, “The leader was talking regarding the most beautiful memories, drinking tea with milk, one cup following another, and our laughter was louder and he did not stop foreplay, and suddenly he was silent for a while and then said (Oh, theater, this is a very interesting thing) to turn our conversation away from the theater, and defend the rioters, And he sings the end song for us that urges attention to education.”
“The leader, Adel Imam, has a fertile memory, creative imagination, and focus on small details,” he said.
And one of the Egyptian media had confirmed in his statements that the artist Adel Imam had Alzheimer’s and that he might not return to acting once more, which caused a great deal of confusion on social networking sites.
The leader’s brother, Issam Imam, confirmed that he does not have Alzheimer’s disease, and that this information is “mere malicious rumours.”
