Kyiv: Ukraine and Russia have blamed each other for the attack on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, which is largely under Russian control. The shells fell 400 meters away from the operating power unit of the plant. Following this, a plant was temporarily shut down to defuse nuclear radiation. Meanwhile, Russia has accused the Ukrainian forces of firing a Uragan rocket.
Adjacent to it stands the Refined Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility and the Nuclear Radiation Control Facility. The plant’s administrative office buildings and an adjacent storage facility were damaged in the attack. The fact that the rocket landed near the still operational station is a cause for concern. Although the station was seized by Russia, the operation is still controlled by Ukrainian specialists. Rafael Mariano, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, expressed concern over Sunday’s attack. .
Meanwhile, four more ships left Ukraine with grains. Ships carrying corn and soy have left the country. Ukraine will be relieved that the ships have departed through the new port of Pivdenil in the Black Sea.
