In the GHQ attack case, former Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Wasiq Qayyum and 15 workers of Tehreek-e-Insaf were granted interim bail, but Sheikh Rasheed was arrested from the court along with his nephew in one case after getting bail in eleven cases.
The Special Anti-Terrorism Court of Rawalpindi heard the GHQ attack case and reserved the verdict on the bails of 24 activists including 3 candidates of Tehreek-e-Insaaf which was pronounced today.
Judge Malik Ijaz Asif of the Special Anti-Terrorism Court approved the interim bail of former Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi and PTI workers.
Similarly, Sheikh Rasheed’s bail was confirmed in the GHQ attack case. The court issued an order to submit a surety bond of one lakh rupees. On May 9, Sheikh Rasheed and Rashid Shafiq were granted bail in Morgah and Thana City cases. Sheikh Rasheed was granted bail in a total of eleven cases, but he and Rashid Shafiq were arrested from the courtroom for not getting bail in one case.
Sheikh Rasheed was arrested in another case of attack on GHQ, which was registered by Newtown police station.
It should be noted that 12 cases have been filed against former interior minister Sheikh Rashid and his nephew Rashid Shafiq in relation to the tragedy of May 9, in which the police have sought their arrest.
Sheikh Rashid’s lawyer Sardar Abdul Raziq has said that Sheikh Rashid Shafiq’s bail was confirmed in all the cases, but Newtown’s bail was rejected. The police have taken him to the police station. Or will decide on physical remand.
He said that the judges are very good who confirmed the bails in almost all the cases and the sensitive institution case was also the same. Sheikh Rasheed had no direct role in the Hamza Camp case. The judge laughingly told him that something Days remained in jail.
The lawyer said that it is not possible to meet Imran Khan or Chaudhry Pervez Elahi Elahi in the jail, Sheikh Rashid did not talk about the arson attack. Why was he arrested? Sheikh Rasheed has come after forty days.
Meanwhile, 15 Tehreek-e-Insaf workers named in the GHQ attack case were granted interim bail by the same court.
