Translation exclusive: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight bound for Jeddah made an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi minutes following departing from Lahore following its windshield broke in mid-air.
According to the Pakistani newspaper, The Express Tribune, the plane was bound for Jeddah carrying 300 passengers from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore when its windshield shattered in the air due to low oxygen pressure minutes following takeoff.
“The captain of flight PK-759 immediately contacted the control tower and requested an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport, and the damaged aircraft was taken for repair,” she said.
For his part, a spokesman for the Pakistan International Airlines said that an alternative flight would be arranged for their departure from Jeddah.
