Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)– A Sudanese journalist threw a shoe at a politician in support of partnership with the country’s ruling military authority, saying it was a “message from the Sudanese people.”

During her intervention on the sidelines of a conference at the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA), the journalist in the newspaper “Al Rakoba”, Safaa Al-Fahal, said: “I have a message that I want to deliver to you from the Sudanese people,” and then surprised the audience by throwing the shoe at the politician Tom Hajo, according to video clips circulating.

Representatives from the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change – the Charter of National Accord participated in the conference. The Declaration of Freedom and Change led the uprising that toppled former Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir in 2019.

Subsequently, a number of members of this bloc split under the name of the National Accord Movement or the Charter of National Accord. One of the signatories to the charter was Al-Tom Ghazi, the former vice president of the Sudanese Revolutionary Front and a leader in the Democratic Unionist Party.

The army coup on October 25, 2021 ended an agreement between civilians and the military to share power during a transitional period until elections are held.

Demonstrations are still continuing once morest the army’s control of power in Sudan, while at least 96 people were killed and thousands were injured during the demonstrations once morest the military coup.
