Many Syrians and Turks who have been afflicted by this tragedy fear that their missing loved ones will not be found, or that they may be hastily buried by the concerned authorities before the families identify the bodies, especially amid growing concern about the spread of epidemics and diseases in the devastated areas.
The United States of America and the European Union expressed their solidarity with the people of Turkey and Syria in the aftermath of the recent devastating earthquakes and highlighted their joint commitment to support recovery efforts from the consequences of the disaster.
This came, according to what the US State Department published in a statement on its website, during a meeting with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and Secretary General of the European External Action Service Stefano Sannino in Washington, DC.
The two sides discussed common concerns about China’s recent actions, while reaffirming their continued support and coordination on supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty in the face of Russian military intervention.
