The 70-year-old was arrested by police officers of the Department of Cultural Heritage and Antiquities of the Security Directorate.

The police found and confiscated a ceramic object from ancient times, 52 ceramics, of which 10 date back to ancient times (Hellenistic period 4th century BC), 42 ceramic objects dating before 1453 in the Byzantine period, which are considered a special archaeological and economic value.
Also, 24 religious icons, a post-Byzantine iconostasis cross and two metal crosses were located and seized, which according to the expert opinion of a competent archaeologist of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Thessaloniki, fall under the protective provisions of the Law concerning “Sanction of a code of legislation for the protection of antiquities and in general of cultural heritage”, as well as 12 metal buckles, eight metal objects, a tassel and a yatagani, which are of folklore interest and will be given to the relevant museum for assessment and further investigation.
Also found were two pistols, two swords, two cariophiles, a pistol with four magazines, two of which contained six cartridges, as well as 105 cartridges of various calibers.
