The victim, Sandra, a young woman born in 1988, was taken to hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect, born in 1991, was questioned on Sunday and the investigation is continuing. The exact location of the shooting has yet to be determined. The prosecution adds, however, that the facts did not take place where the man went (Leopolddreef).
The shot was probably fired at another location and the woman was then transported. The prosecution is in the process of identifying the traces. An autopsy will be performed on the victim’s body.
“She had chosen her family”
According to information from Newspaper, the suspect was having an affair with the victim who was also married to another man. “We have been married for thirteen years,” he told our colleagues. “Around 8 p.m., I received a text saying that she was going home. My wife went to a barbecue at a friend’s house not far from our house. That was the last I heard from her until the police came to tell me she was dead.
The husband was aware of his wife’s affair with his neighbour: “She had ended her affair and had chosen her family. I don’t know why he shot her […] I don’t really know him and I especially hope that he receives an appropriate sentence”.
