The Kuwaiti judiciary signed a fine of 500 dinars on the media, Mai Al-Aidan, for insulting the Egyptian artist Ahmed Badir.

On Thursday, the Appellate Misdemeanors Court in Kuwait decided to fine the Kuwaiti media regarding $1,653 and to cancel the acquittal, in the case brought by the Egyptian artist, in which he accused her of insulting and slandering.

In turn, the artist Ahmed Badir commented through his account on “Facebook” on the decision, saying: “Thank you to the majestic Kuwaiti judiciary. The value of the fine is not important, the important thing is to maximize the value of justice.” He also thanked the lawyers working on the case.

As Sarah Badir, the daughter of the able artist, wrote, “Praise be to God, I was completely confident in the justice and integrity of the Kuwaiti judiciary.”

And she continued, “Thank you to the proud, just and impartial Kuwaiti judiciary, which supported and affirmed our desire to confront the phenomenon of bullying and not stand negatively in the face of the spread of this hateful phenomenon in society.”
